Setting up IIS on Windows Server 2016

Use Server Manager to add roles and features to enable IIS and the necessary components. (On Windows 10, use Control Panel | Turn Windows features on or off instead of Server Manager and define only the features.) From a fresh Windows Server 2016, you will need to run through the process twice, as some of the features are not available until the required components have been installed. Whenever the wizard prompts you to install the required features, accept the default. First select Web Server (IIS) and then mark the additional roles as shown below:

To verify that IIS is operating, open up any browser and paste http://localhost/; into the web address and press Enter. The Windows Internet Information Services Welcome page should load. If you do not see the Windows Internet Information Services Welcome page, then do not proceed. Your Expert Choice installation consultant may ask for a screenshot of your Windows Internet Information Services Welcome page.
