Auto-advance can be used to make the evaluation for single pairwise verbal and single rating faster by auto-advancing to the next step after the judgment is made.
The Auto-Advanced option can be set on COLLECT INPUT > Set Measurement Options > Evaluation settings.
There are three options for the auto-advance feature:
- Auto-advance on.
- Auto-advance off, and ask the evaluator (once) if they want to turn it on. (After going through 5 pairwise steps a prompt will display asking the evaluator if they want to turn on the auto-advance feature.)
- Auto-advance off, and don't ask the evaluator if they want to turn it on.
The Project Manager can show or hide navigation buttons during the evaluation. This can be done in COLLECT INPUT > Set Measurement Options > Evaluation settings.
By default, the navigation elements available on the evaluation are:
The Project Manager has options to show/hide some buttons and more:
- Hide navigation box/Evaluation progress - hide the navigation box at the left which shows the buttons to move to a specific step, current cluster, and steps list.
- Hide navigation step buttons - hide the navigation box but show the evaluation progress. Note: When the "Hide navigation box/Evaluation progress" is checked, this option is disabled since it will be overridden.
- Show next unassessed - show or hide the "Next unassessed" button. The next unassessed button allows the evaluator to skip the results/information/evaluated steps and jump to a specific step that is not yet evaluated, and skip results or information steps.
- Don't allow going to "next" step unless input is provided - disable the Next button and the number steps when the evaluator hasn't provided judgment for the current step.
The Project Manager can let the evaluators stay on the evaluation, close the browser tab, or redirect to another Comparion project or website once they have finished the evaluation process. This can be done in COLLECT INPUT > Set Measurement Options > Evaluation settings.
- Stay on the evaluation pipe - stay on the last step of the evaluation, commonly the "Thank you" page. The evaluator can close the tab or go back to the previous steps.
- Close browser window (tab) - add a Finish button on the last step of evaluation which will close the browser tab.
- Redirect to URL - will take the evaluator to the URL specified by the Project Manager following their completion of the evaluation.
- Open another model - select and open another Comparion model where the evaluator will be redirected to collect input.
- Perform user log-off - automatically log the evaluator off after completing their input.
Project managers can enable "Abstain Judgment" in Collect Input > Set Measurement Options > Evaluation Settings.
This setting lets evaluators abstain rather than just skip an evaluation. This is useful in situations where the PM wishes to empower participants to skip low-confidence judgments. Mathematically, Comparion treats abstentions as missing judgment, while still permitting participants to achieve a 100% participation rate.
Abstain judgment is displayed to all measure methods as radio button selection for rating, or as a toggle (non-rating).
